Mrs. Joyce Isaacson, 95, of Milledgeville, Illinois, was called home to Heaven, Saturday afternoon, October 25, 2025, from CGH Medical Center, Sterling, Illinois.
Mrs. Isaacson was born Lois Joyce Peterson on December 28, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents, Frank and Gladys (Skoglund) Peterson raised her in the Chicagoland Area where she graduated high school. On July 17, 1948, Joyce married Dwight Albert Isaacson at the historic Moody Memorial Church in Chicago. Following their marriage, the couple resided and raised their family in Skokie and Park Ridge, Illinois, and later Dodgeville, Wisconsin. They returned to Northern Illinois in 1980. Dwight preceded Lois in death, August 10, 2015.
Joyce had a great love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was actively in involved in a Church wherever she lived. When there was a need for volunteers, Joyce was involved teaching Sunday School and serving on various boards and committees. In recent years, she was a member of Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls, Illinois, and more recently, Milledgeville Brethren Church. Joyce loved being in the Word in both Bible reading and prayer. She also loved to visit and was very concerned about not only the happenings of her own family but that of her friends as well. Like her husband, her God and family were her priority.
Her family includes, sons, Ken Isaacson and Don Isaacson of Chadwick, Illinois, and John Isaacson and his wife, Donna of Green Oaks, Illinois; nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson and sister-in-law, Lucretia Isaacson of South Carolina; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Joyce was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Isaacson; a daughter, Carol Isaacson; brother, Donald Peterson and his wife, Louise; sister-in-law, Jane Isaacson and brother-in-law, Ralph Isaacson.
